  • 02-22-97///A long long regular season came to an end Saturday night for sophomore Cory Tinsley, left, and first year coach Mike McBride as Eminence HS dropped its 20th game losing to rival Monrovia 86-43. The Eminence Eels lost seven players at the start of the year after three were caught drinking and four others walked off in their support. The team has no seniors and starts three freshmen. The girl's parents, Jon and Cyndi Stalker, have brought their daughter to all ten home games this season. Stalker played on the Orleans team, graduating in 1989.   • Milan still celebrates their 1954 State High School basketball title on the old town water tower. The historic win over a much larger school was the basis for the movie "Hoosiers." Bobby Plump hit the game winning shot in the real 1954 game and become a Hoosier legend.
